This site is being re-done to be a one stop shop for all to post about and hash out our later-in-life plans in order to form a group to bounce ideas off of and use as a resource for skills and materials.

It will also possibly serve for a place to post things such as money-making schemes, updates on where jobs can be found that might interest certain people, and as a place to bounce ideas around about projects like lit, art, and games.

The Forum now has a No One Ends Up in a Ditch Initiative discussion.

If anyone wants to post anything here (art/lit-wise), let me know.

It seems to me that today there is a lot of hype about the dangers of video games and the internet entering the homes of impressionable children. Not just the issue of violence, but also sexuality, drug abuse, the darker sides of life innaccurately spread out for a child to see.
Fortunately for parents everywhere, there is a RATING SYSTEM for video games that has literally only 5 letters in it. E, T, M, and AO. It is not that hard to learn. And parents, if you are too dense to figure this out and apply it to your child's video game buying, even if there weren't video games they'd find some way to get the sex, violence, and drugs because you are NOT A GOOD PARENT.
There also seems to be a common misconception about video games being for a younger audience, and therefore "Why should any game have sex and violence if kids are going to play it?" While kids might play these games, the average age of gamers is 37. MIDDLE AGED, not adolescent. It's really no different than magazines, or movies, or books. There will always be playboy, porno, and trashy novels. It's your job as a parent to keep those from your child until they can handle them.
